During a Public Lecture presented by the Akwa Ibom State University, Department of Mechanical Engineering on the 2nd of August 2019, Hopes were raised for the citizens of Nigeria as the Vice Chancellor of the School, Professor Eno James Ibanga mentioned his support and interest to commence the Aerospace Engineering program in the school.
The lecture tagged Aerospace Engineering: The Paradigm shift in Nigeria's space exploration and development was taken up by a guest speaker, A lecturer from the Institute of Technology, USA (Affiliate) School of Engineering, Department of Aeronautics and astronautics, Professor Leonard F. Daniel created an opportunity for questions from different Representatives.
Professor Eno J. Ibanga responding to a question instated that he is always ready to bring to existence the department of aerospace engineering before his tenure as the vice Chancellor of the University elapses provided a strong motive is made and compelled from the faculty of engineering.
