How to secure your facebook account

Facebook has provided several security measures for users who operate with them in order to ensure the safety of their information.
Lots of users have been deprived the access to their accounts by hackers all around who take to the weakness of these accounts and hack into them.
Now MyGuideOut would make this guide simple and straight forward.

1.       Protect Your Password:
       First and foremost, the easiest way for a third party or a hacker to gain access to your account is through your password. Once they get hold of this, you are at the risk of losing your account. So, in order to protect your password, do not use your Facebook password anywhere else online, sharing of your password with friends is very risky because a friend might turn to an enemy at any point. Ensure that your password is difficult to guess, avoid including your name or common words.
Also, ensure that you are logged off from a shared device for example tablets, computers but if you forgot to do that, you could use the remote log out option.

There are several other security features provided by Facebook which includes:

2.       The Two Factor Authentication:
      The two factor authentication is a security feature that helps in protecting your Facebook account in addition to the password. You can use the two factor authentication by going to your settings & privacy > security & login settings scroll down and click use two factor authentication click on setup. You can choose either text message codes or login odes from a third party authentication app.

3.       The Remote Log Out Option:
     You can use this method to log out from a device that has a shares access. To do this, scroll to the bottom of any page and clock on settings & privacy > security & login > where you are logged in, tap the box next to the session you want to end and click log out. Clicking on log out will automatically log your account out of the undesired device.

4.       The One-Time Password:
      You can use this feature anytime you feel uncomfortable entering your real password on Facebook (such as in the library or in the cyber cafĂ©). Here is how to do that;

If you reside in the United States, send an SMS to 32665 with the message content “otp” If your mobile number is linked to your Facebook account, a message containing a unique 6-character temporary password will be sent to you. If your number is not linked to your Facebook account, an email with the instructions on how to set this up will be sent to you.
Once this is done, you can use this 6-character temporary password to log into any device but note that this password can only be used once but you can always demand for another one-time password by following the procedures again.

5.       The Trusted Contacts Feature:
      This feature will assist you in choosing and setting up some trusted friends in case your account is been hijacked or locked out of your device without your consent. When you choose this contacts, they will be able to send you a recovery code with a special URL you can use to get back into your account.
To set this up, scroll to the bottom of any page on Facebook and click settings & privacy > security & login. Click choose 3 to 5 friends if you get locked out, click on choose trusted contacts and follow the instructions on the screen. When you are done with this, you can always change or remove a contact that you have choose by following the set up again.
