How to check BVN with Mobile Phone.

Due to the security challenges experienced in the Nigerian banking sector, the Central Bank established a single biometric identification system which assigns every bank operating user a Bank Verification Number (BVN).

The Bank Verification Number (BVN) usually consists of a 11digits number which is different from your assigned bank account number. Every bank operating user is assigned with just one Bank Verification Number (BVN) which can be linked to every bank accounts owned by the user.


Because of the high essence of this number, several searches and questions on how to create, check BVN with mobile phones have been on a trend.
This guide will enable you to check your BVN with any mobile network.
At some certain points, we tend to have missed the digits associated with our Bank Verification Number (BVN) and in order to avoid the error of assumption, we need an accurate meduim of checking our BVN.

How to check BVN with MTN:

Please note that before dialing the code that would be given, you have to use the same sim card you used for the BVN registration.
  1. Now, with your mobile phone dial the USSD code *565*0#.
  2. Wait for a short while for the BVN to appear before your screen.
  3. Note that a service charge of 10 naira will be deducted from your airtime balance.

How to check BVN with Airtel:

  1. Simply dial *565*0#
  2. Bank Verification Number appears on your screen
  3. Service charge of 10 naira is deducted.....
You can write the number down to avoid the service charges.

How to check BVN with 9mobile:

Irrespective of the network you are using for the check, just be sure it is the mobile number associated with the BVN.
  1. Now, with your mobile phone dial the USSD code *565*0#.
  2. Wait for a short while for the BVN to appear before your screen.
  3. Note that a service charge of 10 naira will be deducted from your airtime balance.

How to check BVN with GLO:

For GLO subscribers, there's no precise difference in the method of checking your Bank Verification Number. So,
  1. Type the usual combination *565*0#. 
  2. Wait until the BVN number appears on the phone screen. 
  3. Checking the balance, you will notice that 10 Naira were deducted from your account.
