The Airtel Family and Friends is a discounted service available to all Airtel prepaid customers. I guess this service was made available to make it easier for Airtel users to connect with their family and friends at a discounted rate. These discount are only applied on calls made to numbers registered in your family and friends list.

Ignorantly, a lot of users keep dialing the old USSD code *141*2*number# while trying to add up numbers to their family and friends list not knowing that the code has been updated recently to another code in which will be listed in this article.

How does this service work?

The Airtel Family and Friends works in a unique way, unlike the previous years where you could add up to 5 numbers to your family and friends list free of charge, currently you can only add 4 members to your family and friends list at a free charge, adding extra members to this list has been made possible by Airtel but extra numbers would be charged N20 each i.e. After exhausting the free 4 members limit, other numbers you add to the list would cost you N20 per number.

Also, note that you can only add valid Airtel numbers to the list.

How to Add Members to Your Family and Friends List?

Previously you could add members to your family and friends list by dialing the USSD *141*2*number# but currently, to add a member to the list, you dial the USSD *311*2*number#. For example, adding 08020000000 to the list will be done by dialing *311*2*08020000000#.

How to Delete Members from Your Family and Friends List?

Previously, you could delete any number from your family and friends list by dialing the USSD code *141*3*number# but currently, to delete a number from the list, you dial the USSD code *311*3*number#. 

For example, deleting the number 08020000000 from the list would be done by dialing the USSD code *311*3*08020000000#.

How to View Numbers in Your Family and Friends List?

Every number added to your friends and family list are been saved in a database, to view numbers you have added to this list, you have to dial the USSD code *311*4#.

At What Rate Are You Charged for Calls to Numbers in Your Family and Friends List

Call rates to numbers registered to your family and friends list might be cheaper but please note that there are no discounts or bonuses to enjoy on SMS sent to these numbers. Regardless of your tariff plan, the call rates for this numbers registered in the list are the same.

Calls made to numbers on your family and friends list within the period of 6am to 9:59pm are charged at the rate of 25 kobo per second while calls made between the periods of 10pm to 5:59am are charged at the rate of 21 kobo per second.
